Jenna was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after her 21st birthday. Her diagnosis was shocking and her treatment gruelling. However, Jenna was adamant that her illness would not define her. Instead, she lived her life to the full – jumping out of planes, travelling to remote lands, seeing positives in every day.
When things got tough she’d paint on a smile and tell us “we’ve got this”. She raised awareness for breast cancer and was an avid fund raiser for numerous charities including being an ambassador for Look Good, Feel Better, a charity set up to boost the physical and emotional wellbeing of people undergoing cancer treatment.
Jenna changed career shortly after she was first given the all clear and it was her ambition to become a secondary school teacher. She was fortunate to work with a number of children with varying degrees of educational and emotional needs. She had found her calling. To help others achieve their potential whatever their circumstance.
Jenna was the life and soul of every party, she was funny, glamorous (the thought of her going out without lashes and lip gloss was outrageous!) and so very kind. She lost so much to cancer but never her sparkle. Eventually Jenna paid the ultimate price and lost her life. She was 25 years old.
